The Science Textiles research platform of TFRC will be launched with the first lecture and workshop exploring the themes on June 27th in the MA Textiles Futures Studio, CSM, organised by Associate Director of TFRC Carole Collet. Guest speaker will be Marina Wallace, Professor of Curation at CSM, and Director of Artakt, an organisation who organise, curate and publish new ideas around science and art. Marina also co-curated the show Spectacular Bodies at the Hayward Gallery in 2001. You can see her speaking here about that show and her work.
The lecture which begins at 2pm will be open to everyone, and then following that will be a workshop involving TFRC members only, who will present their own work around the Science Textiles theme to each other.
